Thank you to everyone that participated in this special occasion.
Birmingham Territory Chapter was honored to have veteran Sargent Jason Reddick as its guest for the 2022 Veterans Day parade! Pictured are Sgt. Reddick, "Mustang' Sally Cox and driver "Mister Glen" Cox. Many thanks to Sally for volunteering her sporty Mustang for the parade!
Birmingham Territory Chapter DAR recognized “breast cancer awareness month” at its October 11 meeting for its October women's issues minute by having individual bags containing items related to breast cancer awareness for each member attending. Coincidentally, October 11 is the anniversary of the founding of NSDAR and its National Service Day. The Chapter stuffed over 65 treat bags for the Ronald McDonald House at Children's Hospital as a service project. Each bag also contained an encouraging note or silly kid-friendly riddle on a neon colored 3 x 5 index card decorated with puffy stickers.
Our program was the Homewood K9 dogs, Vulcan and Shadow, with their handlers, Officers Scruggs and Kidd. Great day all around and we appreciate the officers time and the demonstration of the dogs.
